5 tips for warehouse LED lighting design

When you are thinking about the warehouse lighting design then you have to keep in mind various things.

There are different warehouse lighting norms, as well as warehouse lighting design choices to choose between.

Besides the essential safety guidelines, there are some of the better tips on lighting the warehouse most comfortably.

Let’s go over some of the best tips you might know so that you can perform an optimal warehouse lighting plan.

To know what lighting the warehouse needs,

Here are the key points that are typically true for most warehouses, but just like people, warehouses can have their unique differences.

Here we have given you the 5 tips on warehouse lighting design

1.     Try to figure out the best arrangement of lighting

When preparing your warehouse lighting plan take a moment to figure out if you can rearrange the warehouse’s contents more practically. Different warehouse lights are planned for different parts of warehouses.  For example linear aisle lights are used for the places which are low lighting over aisles. Parking lot led lights to cover the parking area. Panel high bays cover larger areas than a regular UFO LED high bay light. So, there are ways to rearrange the contents of the warehouses so that it needs more practical, efficient, and economical lighting.

Also, make sure to keep in mind that whatever arrangement you decide on is for the long term. Warehouse lighting is generally tough to rearrange so if you switch some of the contents or design choices of the warehouse’s layout in a few months, then the recently-installed lighting will stop giving its effect as it was at first. In other words, just think that if the warehouse design you are settled on will remain in that condition for a while.

2.      Just think if there is anything unique about the warehouse

There is much more to warehouse lighting than just punching several UFO lights at equal intervals on the ceiling. The lighting should be designed on the base of the structure of the warehouse so that everything is illuminated in the best possible way. And you are not left with some lighter and some darker areas.

3.      Select the best type of warehouse lighting for the situation

There are 3 main types of warehouse lights which are LED lights, fluorescent and HID (High-intensity discharge) bulbs. Each of them has theirs positives and negatives aspects.

But LED light is the most popular type of warehouse lighting nowadays. There are several reasons.

·         LED (light-emitting diodes) is much more pocket friendly than HID and fluorescent because it consumes less energy.

·         It offers warmth-free light that’s appropriate for any situation.

·         It has a significantly more extended lifespan than other lights with good LED light fixtures reaching up to 50,000 hours of work life.

·         LED used to be more costly than HID and fluorescent lighting but it isn’t anymore.

4.      Choose the best long-term option

When designing warehouse lighting, some people usually undervalue the long-term cost of warehouse lighting. The fact of the matter is that the initial value of the lighting system purchase and installation will pale in comparison to the electricity bills you’ll have to pay in the next few years or decades. So, if you going to use your warehouse for a long time, just make sure that you select the most energy-efficient option as long as and don’t compromise on the other factors of the warehouse lighting plan. As we can see, LED high bay lights can be the most energy-efficient lighting solutions for warehouses. But for temporary or some short-term work you can use led temporary work lights and there is also a motion sensor LED high bay light which can help us to save more.

5.      Consider the color of the light

You also have to keep in mind the color of the light for the warehouse lighting design. Because the color of the light you’re using is important not just for artistic reasons but also because it affects things such as contrast and clarity. Like if workers are going to be wandering around the warehouse, and constantly doing their work of reading labels, than you have to give them the best possible reading light. The color rendering index (CRI) is the one to pay concentration to in that respect. The higher is the index, the better the light will be for reading. The CRI 80 is the lowest number you shouldn’t go below. But is good that, for all the LED lights, the CRI is above 85 which will solve this type of problem.
